Laptops and Notebooks

Notebook computers (commonly called laptops) have now become desktop replacements. If you've never investigated this option, you should.

Advantages:

  • You can take it all "to-go" when desired
  • Built in UPS. Notebooks have batteries
  • Built in flat panel display and keyboard
  • Built in speakers, mike and mouse
  • Built in modem, nic and ports
  • Small footprint on desk.

Notebooks make the most sense when:

  • You travel a lot and it becomes necessary
  • You need data on your computer often
  • You would be more effective with it
  • You have a digital camera

Notebooks do NOT make sense when:

  • The environment is harsh on electronic devides
  • One is prone to dropping and breaking things
  • The priority is the lowest price for a computer
  • There is a liklihood of theft or vandalism
